The challenge
Panoramic optics only work if every element sits exactly where the designer intended. The housing had to hold the lens precisely, survive a real-world installation, and look good doing it.
What we did
- Machined the lens housing from 6061 aluminum to tight concentricity
- Worked directly with Coastal Optical's engineers, our neighbors in Palm Beach County
- Finished in black anodize to kill stray reflections and hold up outdoors
The result
Housings that went into the field, including one of the cameras in the iconic Tree of Life at Walt Disney World. From print to first article in about three weeks, then repeat production as Coastal Optical's orders grew.
